Hair in The Wind

Women’s rights have tremendously progressed this century. Voting rights, access to the labor market, sexual liberation, … there is no comparison between women’s condition at the begin of the 20th century to the begin of the 21st century. Nevertheless, we have still a long way to go and many more battles to fight and win. Everyone should be a feminist, no matter whether you are a man, a woman or something else, because equality of treatment and rights benefits all of us! This painting represents a mix of vintage and modern where the ideas and the fashion of yesterday still makes sense today and its meaning grows even stronger. The hair of the woman are styled in victory rolls and she is driving a car, but her hair isn’t blowing free in the wind yet and she has a long way through the bubble gum fields where she could get stuck at any time.
